Leaders for Nature Biodiversity Walk at Lodhi Garden for Veolia Employees

Leaders for Nature organised a Biodiversity Walk for the member company Veolia Ltd. The event was organised on the 3rd of October 2016 along the greens of Lodhi Garden, situated between Khan Market and Safdarjung’s Tomb on Lodhi Road.The participants were from different departments including operations, environment, finance and admin. A total 28 employees participated in the session. Dr. Hishmi Hussain from Rio Tinto Ltd. lead the walk and guided on topics covering basics of biodiversity, ecosystem services,and identification and uses of  common plants around us. Mr. Aditya Petwal, Coordinator Leaders for Nature gave a brief about the linkage between Biodiversity and Business. All the participants showed high enthusiasm during the walk and were keen in knowing the about the medicinal properties of plants . Dr. Hussain introduced the participants to various species of plants and birds in the garden. The participants were inquisitive and asked many questions. He also shared knowledge about the Vulture Conservation Project on which he had worked with IUCN to highlight importance of every species in the ecosystem.
